Informal Support Group Meeting

We are meeting on Wednesday 2nd August at 2.00pm at The Cafe Refectoire at St James Priory.  The address is Cannon Street, Bristol BS1 3LP.  It is situated just outside the main bus station when taking the footpath towards the shopping area.  We will be supporting each other with informative literature and sharing experiences.  During the afternoon we will also be planning our next meeting which hopefully will include a professional speaker.  For more information please get in touch at

Bristol Support Group Meeting  - Wednesday 21st June 2pm

We have identified that there is clearly a need for a group that meets regularly in Bristol and I am pleased to say that 3 local ladies who attended the recent Road Show have very kindly agreed to help facilitate a group.  We are therefore going to have an informal get together at: -

St Michael’s Church Main Hall
160a Gloucester Road

Parking is on the road and is probably best in the Morley Square Area which is the opposite side of Gloucester Road to the Hall.  However it is possible to drop passengers right at the door before parking.  When coming by bus you can alight at a stop in the Gloucester Road called Hatherly Road.  From the bus station direction walk back about 40 yards from the stop and the church is on the same side of the road.  Opposite Debenhams you can catch the 71, 73,75 and 76;  inside the bus station 78 and 79 and from Temple Meads 72.

On the 21st June we are planning to share experiences in a relaxed atmosphere over a “cuppa”.   Literature will be available.  The aim will be to provide information and support to improve your experience of living with these conditions.  We will also be discussing the future of the Bristol Support Group to ensure that it will meet the needs of those wishing to attend.  We are also looking for others to join the small team who will run the group.

The initial idea is to have regular meetings along the lines mentioned above and in addition 3 or 4 meetings a year with a professional speaker.  In this connection I am very pleased to say that we have the support of Dr Jo Robson and her team from the Rheumatology Dept of the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

If you would like any further information please contact or telephone 0300 999 5090.

I look forward to meeting you for what I am sure will be the first of very many successful meetings.

Kind regards

Wendy Morrison
